FEM RIOT


We too cannot believe that in 2020 women* still have to fight for their identity and sexuality. These films present different stories, but the experiences faced by half of the world's population are similar. At the same time, we see two women on the screen — an academic and sculptor, and head of a female fight club, whose professional and personal life have gone against all institutional, social and cultural restrictions.

Anna Konda empowers women. Head of the FFCB (the Female Fight Club Berlin), and a notorious female fighter herself, she pushes her girls to build inner strength and courage against all social norms through combat. She is a wanted specialist for a certain kind of job in the Berlin underground.

Joana and Nina are two 13-year-old friends in the midst of puberty. The first one, bubbly and brazen, has vital questions about female gender. Both are young women of their time and condition: social networks, immediacy and excesses. Today, Joana has decided to put an end to her existential anxiety. At that moment a macabre game devised by Joana begins. That decisive moment of puberty will cause something in each of them to change forever.
