MEET UKRAINIAN SHORTS AT CLERMONT ISFF

Ukrainian stand and industrial programme during the Short Film Market in Clermont-Ferrand

At the Short Film Market in Clermont-Ferrand, which will take place from February 5 to 8, 2024, as part of the world's largest short film festival, the Kyiv International Short Film Festival, with the assistance of the USAID Program "Competitive Economy of Ukraine", will present the Ukrainian short films stand.

"During the ongoing war, many Ukrainian directors and artists have been unable to create due to frequent shelling and direct threats to their lives. Additionally, financial difficulties have prevented the realization of creative ideas”. The organizers are convinced that presenting Ukrainian short films and projects in Clermont-Ferrand is a great opportunity for filmmakers to establish professional connections with European colleagues, find distributors for foreign markets, and secure financing for future film projects.

The program of the Ukrainian market screening included the works of Antonio Lukich (How I Spent My Summer Holidays?), Natalia Ilchuk (The Seventh Shift), Marta Smerychynska (Home is 1117 km Northeast), Anna Dudko (Mokosh), Liza Pyrozhkova (Hello, I'm on the hill), Sonia Leliukh (Comma), Andrii Kokura (In Paris no one thinks about tomorrow) and Ihor Babaiev (Voice messages from Bakhmut). The selected fiction and documentary short films touch on the theme of war and the traces it leaves on people's lives, exploring integrity and fragility. We invite you to the market screening of the Ukrainian short on February 6 at 14:00 at Georges Cochon Theater.

Directors and producers whose short projects are still in the production stage will join the delegation of Ukrainian filmmakers working on short films: Viktoriia Zadorska (Spacedad), Kyrylo Naumko (Round Glasses), Vyacheslav Turyanytsya (Bogrács), Olena Siyatovska ("The Running Land) and Iryna Sosimovych (Misundershood). Presentations of their projects within the Talents Connexion industrial hub in Clermont-Ferrand will take place on February 5 at 15:00 at Agora.

We invite you to discover the newest Ukrainian shorts and meet the filmmakers representing modern Ukraine.

Our team also presents an online catalog of Ukrainian short films featuring both completed films and works-in-progress.

The USAID Competitive Economy Program supports Ukrainian businesses to improve their competitiveness in Ukraine's domestic and international markets, helps build a simplified and transparent business climate, and provides Ukrainian companies with opportunities to take advantage of international trade.
